Greek giants AEK Athens have secured the signing of midfield workhorse Papa Bouba Diop from relegated English club Portsmouth. The south coast side, who suffered the pain of administration, relegation from the Premier League and FA Cup final heartache, have had to trim their wage bill.
For AEK Athens the signing of Bouba Diop is a coup and only a few years ago was rated as one of the best midfield enforcers in the English top flight.
The 32-year-old has signed a two-year deal with the Greek club and will earn €900,000 per season in Athens.
