Barcelona have taken notice of the fine displays put in at the 2011 Asian Cup by Japanese defender Yuto Nagatomo. The Japan star has helped his country reach the final of the tournament which is currently taking place in Qatar, and the Blue Samuari will meet Australia in the final tomorrow.

Nagatomo currently turns out in Serie A for Cesena, but the 24-year-old is only there on loan from his parent club FC Tokyo, and the signs are that a large chase for his signature is ready to erupt in the summer transfer window.

Barcelona join a whole raft of clubs from across Europe in tracking the flying full back, including Juventus, Villarreal, Everton, Tottenham Hotspur and Schalke. AC Milan too are also rumoured to be watching developments closely.

The Catalan giants may feel able to trump any offer from other clubs though and see Nagatomo as a player with a very bright future ahead of him.
