Paris Saint-Germain have shortlisted Valencia striker Roberto Soldado as a potential summer acquisition, according to sources in France.
Soldado has been on fire for Los Che this season and has forced his way into Vicente del Bosque’s Spain squad at Fernando Torres’ expense in recent months, becoming a serious contender for a spot in La Roja’s Euro 2012 party.
PSG are on the lookout for world class attacking reinforcements next season after often misfiring in the current campaign and being knocked off the top of Ligue 1 by Montpellier.
And with Champions League football also certain to be gracing the Parc des Princes next season, PSG have earmarked up to €100M for summer transfer funds.
That could be music to Valencia’s ears, with the Mestalla outfit still not out of the woods financially despite selling David Villa, Juan Mata and David Silva in the last two years.
Soldado is under contract with Los Che until 2014.
He has scored 16 goals in 29 games in La Liga in the current campaign.
