Serie A duo Juventus and Roma are keen on Barcelona midfielder Thiago Alcantara.

The Catalan pass-master is highly rated at the Camp Nou, though Barcelona possess an abundance of midfield riches with coach Josep Guardiola able to call upon Xavi, Andres Inesta and Cesc Fabregas for the vital centre of the park role.

And both Juventus, who look on course to win this season’s Italian title, and Roma, bossed by former Barcelona B coach Luis Enrique, have identified Alcantara as a potential addition.

Roma launched a raid on Barcelona last summer, snapping up Bojan Krkic and Enrique’s vast contacts at the Catalan giants may be able to smooth the wheels of a similar deal this year.

Juventus however could offer Alcantara Champions League football, something which would surely appeal to the midfielder.

Any swoop though remains dependent on Barcelona and Guardiola’s willingness to do business.
