England have received another injury blow after defender Gary Cahill was ruled out of Euro 2012.

The Chelsea defender collided with goalkeeper Joe Hart during yesterday’s friendly match against Belgium and has fractured his jaw.

Now the centre back has been forced with withdraw from Roy Hodgson’s England squad and will miss Euro 2012; Hodgson has called Liverpool defender Martin Kelly up as his replacement.


Cahill joins John Ruddy, Gareth Barry and Frank Lampard in missing Euro 2012 with injury after being named in Hodgson’s initial squad.

One bright spot for the England manager however is that John Terry, who complained of feeling a tight hamstring during the Belgium clash, has been given the all clear following a scan.
