New AC Milan striker M’Baye Niang has insisted he is sure he made the right decision in choosing to sign for the Italian giants ahead of English Premier League side Everton.
Niang could have decided to head to Goodison Park to sign for Everton, who wanted to snap him up, but opted for Milan, after the Serie A club thrashed out an agreement with French outfit Caen.
The 17-year-old played 23 times in Ligue 1 last season and, though he could not help the Normans to survive, did see his reputation grow and his potential appreciated by a number of sides.
Niang spent time at Arsenal earlier this summer, however no move to join Arsene Wenger’s men was forthcoming, with sources in France hinting no fee could be agreed with Caen.
Now Niang is in Italy and he is determined to make an impact.
"I have to work hard to convince coach [Massimilano] Allegri and become part of the best Italian team", the 17-year-old told Sportitalia.
"I have to work more than the others and try to do my best."
And the striker was clear that he is sure he has made the right choice in heading to Milan rather than Everton.
"I chose Milan and not Everton and I am convinced I have made the right decision.
"Everyone here has been very kind to me. I am the youngest and I have respect from the Rossoneri squad."
