In a shocker of sorts, it has been claimed that former Nigeria defender Taribo West, who played for clubs like Derby County, Inter Milan, AC Milan, and others, has been lying about his age.
West, who retired in 2008, is listed as 39 years old today in his Wikipedia profile, but his former Serbian club Partizan Belgrade’s president Zarko Zecevic, says he has already passed the age of 50.
“He joined us saying he was 28. We only later found out he was 40, but he was still playing well so I don’t regret having him on the team”, Zecevic was quoted as saying by Eurosport.
The defender joined the Serbian side in 2002.
