Tottenham Hotspur sent scouts to keep an eye on Basel winger Mohamed Salah in the Swiss club’s Europa League semi-final first leg at St. Jakob-Park last night, according to Portuguese daily A Bola.
Spurs manager Andre Villas-Boas is believed to have been impressed with the Egypt international’s contributions for the Swiss league leaders this season, including his displays in the Europa League, a competition in which Basel played and knocked out Tottenham.
The 20-year-old has notched up nine goals from his 41 club appearances so far this season.
A winger, who can also play as a striker, Salah scored the first goal for his team in the second leg of the Europa League quarter-final tie against Villas-Boas’ men earlier this month.
