Highly-rated Basel defender Aleksandar Dragovic has signalled his interest in joining Manchester United, explaining he wishes to follow in the footsteps of his idol, Nemanja Vidic.
Dragovic has enjoyed a superb season with the Swiss giants this season, helping the St. Jakob Park outfit to the semi-finals of the Europa League, while domestically the club are in pole position to retain their title, sitting six points ahead of Grasshopper with just three games to play.
The 22-year-old centre-back has featured 29 times in the Swiss Super League for Basel this season, while he also clocked up 19 appearances in the club’s European campaign.
But if the defender fulfils his dream, there may not be too many more games in a Basel shirt that lie ahead of him.
