Chelsea are prepared to fork out €30m and offer striker Fernando Torres on top in order to get their hands on Napoli’s Edinson Cavani, according to Sky Italia.
The Uruguayan’s prolific season in Serie A brought the usual suspects of suitors to his door, including Paris Saint-Germain, Arsenal and Manchester City.
The striker himself claims he is in the dark over his future, whilst a buyout clause believed to be in the region of €63m is also proving a stumbling block.
However, with Chelsea expected to bring Jose Mourinho to their helm and his Blues predecessor Rafael Benitez moving to Napoli, a deal involving Torres as the sweetener could prove hard to turn down.

Torres’ entry to the Premier League was under Benitez when at Liverpool, and the pair linked up again during Benitez’s interim position at Stamford Bridge this season.
It is understood that Mourinho is not a huge admirer of Torres, whilst the latter’s desire to rejoin his former coach at Napoli could swing the balance for Cavani in Chelsea’s favour.
