Franco Baldini has left his position as sporting director at Italian giants Roma.

Baldini has departed by mutual consent, further adding to the sense of crisis gripping the Giallorossi, who will now have to search for a new sporting director to go alongside a new coach next season, with a change widely expected on the bench.

"We thank Franco Baldini for his work in the service of AS Roma during the past two seasons", said Roma president James Pallotta in a statement.

"Baldini has played an important role in the launch of our project and we wish him the best for his future endeavours."
