Swansea City manager Michael Laudrup may well find himself managing a different club in the upcoming season as Turkish Super Lig giants Fenerbahce are believed to be pondering a deal for the Danish tactician.

Laudrup has become a revelation for Swansea in the recently-concluded 2012/13 campaign by leading them to their first ever League Cup trophy win by defeating minnows Bradford City 5-0 in the final at Wembley.

The former Juventus and Barcelona attacking midfielder also used his Spanish influence to bring in the likes of Michu and Jonathan de Guzman to Liberty Stadium, both of whom turned out to be superb signings for the Welsh heavyweights.

Laudrup’s future with the club, however, was thrown into doubt recently when he aired his grievances on Swansea’s apparent reluctance to spend heavily in the transfer market.

And with the rift between club and manager slowly showing itself in public, it is believed that Fenerbahce are willing to be the first to capitalise.

Indeed, according to Danish daily Ekstra Bladet, the Super Lig club are already credited with having initial talks with Laudrup’s agent Bayram Tutumulu in an effort to enquire the possibility of the Danish tactician taking over the reins of the Sukru Saracoglu Stadium come next campaign.

Fenerbahce are in the hunt for a new head coach after their previous one, Aykut Kocaman, resigned last week, marking the end of a three-year reign in Istanbul which saw the club win the league title as well as the Turkish Cup twice.
