Russian side Anzhi Makhachkala have announced that that they have extended the contract of head coach Guus Hiddink.
Following weeks of uncertainty regarding the future of the 66-year-old Dutch tactician, the big-spending club have exercised their option of keeping him for another year, but provided no transaction details.
"Both sides exercise the old contract's option to their mutual satisfaction. I am glad", Anzhi director Konstantin Remchyukov said on Twitter.
The former Chelsea caretaker manager agreed a three-year deal at the Anzhi-Arena last February, and has guided his side in achieving their best finish yet – third place – in the Russian Premier League, in the 2012/13 season.

They also reached the Russian Cup final this term before losing to eventual Russian Premier League champions CSKA Moscow.
Hiddink, who was also a former head coach of Russia, won six Eredivisie titles with Dutch giants PSV Eindhoven. He also guided South Korea to a fourth-place finish in the 2002 FIFA World Cup in Korea/Japan.
Earlier this year he refused to rule out quitting coaching at the end of this season.
