AZ Alkmaar general manager Toon Gerbrands has stated that his club will seriously look into the offer from their rivals PSV Eindhoven for highly-rated starlet Adam Maher.
Maher, 19, proved to be a revelation last 2012/13 season. Indeed, he has managed to author a total 25 goals (12 scored, 13 assisted) for both club and country despite his young age.
Maher is believed to have attracted a host of suitors across Europe, with the likes of Barcelona, AC Milan and Manchester City, apart from Dutch sides Ajax and PSV all credited with interest.
And while Ajax have already tracked back their bid for Maher, PSV have moved in the other direction, stepping up their bid for the 19-year-old and coming close to the asking price AZ have for the young player – something Gerbrands admitted his club would have to consider, according to De Telegraaf.

PSV’s offer for Maher nears the asking price of €8-10m, according to another Dutch daily, Algemeen Dagblad. Included in that offer was a percentage that will be given to Maher himself which, when accepted, would tie Maher to PSV’s Philips Stadion for five years.
Maher’s current contract with AZ will run until 2015.
