Real Madrid and Brazil star Kaka could be set to follow his former team-mate David Beckham’s footsteps towards the United States if Orlando City SC have their way.

Orlando are part of the United Soccer Leagues PRO competition but have been bidding for a place in Major League Soccer, with hopes of a 2015 entry on their minds.

Much will depend on whether they meet stadium requirements, but manager Adrian Heath has revealed that Kaka will grace the stage in the US if the Lions make it to the MLS.

The Brazilian, who attended a training session at the club’s headquarters yesterday, is currently contracted until 2015 with Real Madrid.

Following the training session, Heath told television network WFTV 9: "If we reach the MLS in 2015, Kaka will most likely play with us.

"You don’t have to be Einstein to know that his contract ends in the same year that we intend to make the jump to MLS.

"And if Kaka is playing in the American league, it will mean that we have been accepted."

The Lions are currently top of the USL PRO league table, sitting on 32 points and four ahead of the Harrisburg City Islanders.

Kaka became one of the most expensive transfers to Real Madrid when he joined in 2009, but has found opportunities limited.

He has hinted at a move away from Los Blancos, but his former club AC Milan have denied launching a bid to bring him back to the San Siro.
