Arsenal have set their sights on Lazio goalkeeper Federico Marchetti, but the Rome giants are unlikely to be willing to play ball, according to Sky Italia.
The Gunners have just offloaded custodian Vito Mannone to Sunderland and boss Arsene Wenger is keen to bring in competition for regular number 1 Wojciech Szczesny.
And this has led to Arsenal considering making a move for Marchetti, a shot-stopper with whom Wenger has been impressed.
The 30-year-old joined Lazio in 2011, being bought from fellow Italian side Cagliari.

He has since cemented a spot between the sticks in the Italian capital and helped Lazio to win the Coppa Italia last season, beating fierce rivals Roma in the final.
Marchetti turned out 33 times in Serie A for Lazio last season, along with clocking up ten appearances in the Europa League.
At international level Marchetti was taken to this summer’s Confederations Cup by Italy coach Cesare Prandelli, although he did not feature; he has won nine senior caps for the Azzurri.
