FC Copenhagen's interest in Morten Gamst Pedersen has gone from apparently serious talks with his agent to pulling out of the race altogether owing to wage demands.
FCK are unwilling to match Blackburn Rovers midfielder Pedersen's salary expectations, according to Danish outlet BT, especially given his age.
The Norway international was told he could leave Blackburn this summer, and is known to have several clubs interested.
Pedersen had admitted to being flattered by FCK's attention, but his agent remained a bit more aloof saying the Danish club were far from being race leaders.

FCK yesterday confirmed former Wolves boss Stale Solbakken to their helm, fuellling hopes that his compatriot Pedersen would follow suit.
However, sporting director Carsten Vagn Jensen is understood to have withdrawn FCK's approaches meaning his agent Rune Hauge is free to look at clubs including those from Norway.
Pedersen would not be averse to a return to his homeland, where he started his domestic career with Norild and also played for Polarstjernen and Tromso.
His career at Blackburn spanned nine years, earning him 340 appearances and 44 goals altogether.
