Andres Iniesta is confident he will sign a contract extension with Barcelona and has reiterated his desire to spend the rest of his career at the Camp Nou.

The Spain international's current deal at Barcelona expires in 2015 and it has been suggested within Spain that Iniesta has knocked back the club's initial proposal to extend it.

And while Iniesta has not commented on that, he did stress that contract negotiations are not a question of money, with his clear desire being to remain at the Blaugrana.

Iniesta told a press conference: "I cannot control rumours. I can only repeat my wish is to retire at Barca.

"I want to extend, the club want to, we will find an agreement. There is no problem.

"My dream is to retire here. I do not see any other option. This is the best place for me.

"It is not a question of money, to be the second highest paid, fourth or fifth. People love and respect me. This is what matters."

The 29-year-old is a product of Barcelona's youth system.

Iniesta has scooped up six La Liga titles, three Champions Leagues, two Copa del Reys and numerous other trophies during his time at the Camp Nou.
