Javier Chevanton has ended his disappointing short stay at Queens Park Rangers, the club have confirmed.

Chevanton had joined Rangers in September this year but was only able to turn out twice in the Championship.

The three-month contract was ended today with a club statement reading: "Striker Javier Chevanton has left Loftus Road following the conclusion of his short-term contract.

"The club would like to wish Javier all the best for the future."

Chevanton had been released from Italian club Lecce this summer but failed to make an impact for Harry Redknapp.

He could only manage 21 minutes in total as a substitute, playing in a win over Barnsley and a defeat to Burnley.

The 33-year-old had previously enjoyed spells at Monaco, Sevilla, and Atalanta, while he played international football for Uruguay for seven years in the previous decade.
