Former Bayern Munich and Germany international Lothar Matthaus has slammed new Fulham manager Felix Magath for fooling Hamburg.
Magath was the front runner to replace Bert van Marwijk at Hamburg; the former Holland coach was eventually sacked yesterday after the Bundesliga side lost 4-2 to Eintracht Braunschweig.

But Magath agreed to join Fulham on Friday evening, replacing ex-Manchester United first team coach Rene Meulensteen.
"He offered himself as a saviour for HSV, but at the same time was negotiating with an English club", Matthaus said via the German media.

"You can't do that. He has fooled many people."
Magath takes over a club sitting bottom of the Premier League, with just 20 points from 26 games.
Fulham are four points off safety, with 12 games left to save their season.
