Monaco have joined Liverpool in the Ron-Robert Zieler admirers lounge, with the principality side pondering a summer swoop.

The Hannover goalkeeper has been persistently linked with Liverpool at points over the last year, while a clause in his contract with the Bundesliga club means he will be available in the summer for around €8m.

Monaco, who are looking to strengthen between the sticks in anticipation of Champions League football next season, are now being drawn to the German, according to Tutto Mercato.

Meeting Zieler's clause would be simple for a club with Monaco's resources and Hannover could be rendered powerless to prevent his departure.

The goalkeeper has also signalled his desire for European football which Hannover, sitting eleventh in the Bundesliga, look unlikely to be able to provide.

"I would love to play in European competition and establish myself at international level", Zieler said.

The 25-year-old has made 21 appearances for Hannover in the Bundesliga so far this season.
