David de Gea has revealed that he is working overtime to convince Spain team-mate Cesc Fabregas to leave Barcelona for Manchester United this summer.

Manchester United chased Fabregas last year, but failed to close a deal for the former Arsenal captain and were forced to switch their attention to Marouane Fellaini, who they signed from Everton for £27.5m.

Fabregas may be on the move this summer, as Barcelona are thought prepared to sell for the right price, something which has placed Arsenal on alert.

But De Gea wants to see the midfielder at Old Trafford rather than the Emirates Stadium.

"I'm trying to convince Cesc that he should come to United", De Gea admitted to La Sexta.

"But it's hard, because he is doing well at Barca and it's his home", the goalkeeper added.

De Gea is set to have the entire World Cup to work his charm on Fabregas, as Spain head to Brazil to defend their title.
