Diego Costa has told Atletico Madrid that he wants to move to Chelsea this summer, while Los Indios try to convince the Blues to extend Thibaut Courtois’ stay in Madrid.

Costa was in scintillating form for Atletico Madrid in a season where they won La Liga and made their way into their first European Cup final in three decades.

Chelsea are on a lookout for a top class striker this summer and have indentified Costa as a solution to their striking woes.

It is believed that the Blues have already made contact with Atletico Madrid’s officials about the availability of the Spaniard.

And, in a further boost for Jose Mourinho's men, Costa has told the club that he wants to leave and move to Chelsea this summer, according to Spanish daily Marca.

On the other hand Atletico Madrid are trying to convince the Blues to extend Courtois’ stay in Madrid for one or two more years on a loan deal.

Earlier this year Mourinho ruled out extending the Belgian’s stay at Madrid beyond the summer.

Los Indios will loathe losing their star striker, but a Courtois’ extension might soften the blow.
