FC Porto have signed Brazilian midfielder Casemiro from Real Madrid on a one-year loan deal.

The 22-year-old has landed at the Estadio do Dragao and put the finishing touches to his move, which will also see Porto have the right to make the deal a permanent one if he impresses.



Real Madrid initially signed Casemiro on loan from Brazilian side Sao Paulo and, after he impressed, he was snapped up on a permanent deal for €6m.

However, the midfielder has found securing a regular spot in Los Blancos' engine room to be a tough task and could make just 12 appearances in La Liga last season.
 


He nevertheless collected the Champions League and the Copa del Rey last term, appearing seven times in the cup and six times in the Champions League.

Casemiro is a product of Sao Paulo's esteemed youth academy and has represented Brazil at Under-17, Under-20 and senior level.

He has five senior caps for Brazil to his name.
