Brondby coach Thomas Frank cannot hide his delight at his side's signing of Finnish forward Teemu Pukki from Celtic, a player he admits reminds him of Denmark legend Jon Dahl Tomasson.

Pukki has linked up with Brondby on a season-long loan deal, which also contains a purchase option for the Superliga side to keep the former Schalke man should he impress.

And Frank is already a big fan of the 24-year-old, feeling he shares more than a little in common with former AC Milan and Feyenoord forward Tomasson.

"We know him well, but you always look in training to see how he forms relationships", Frank told Bold.

"He can play both as a number 9 and a number 10. He is really good at making runs from deep.

"He may not have Jon Dahl's incisive pass, but he has a better shot. And he has excellent skills in combination moves."

Frank admits that he could hand Pukki his debut this weekend in a Superliga clash against Randers FC.

"At the moment there is nothing counting against it.

"He played three to four matches at Celtic and has played for the national team", the Brondby coach concluded.
