Angel di Maria has marked out Alexis Sanchez as Arsenal's danger man and warned his Manchester United team-mates that when the Chilean plays well, the Gunners play well.

Di Maria regularly came face to face with Sanchez at his old club, Real Madrid, when the Spanish giants locked horns with Barcelona in Spain's famous El Clasico fixture.

Both wingers by trade, the pair have faced each other on eleven occasions and will make that 12 on Monday night when Manchester United host Arsenal in an FA Cup quarter-final clash.

Di Maria rates the Chilean and believes he makes Arsenal better when he is on song.

"Sanchez is a player who has been in some great form this season and since he came to Arsenal he hasn't stopped scoring or creating goals", Di Maria told his club's site.

"He's been tremendous and seems to be the key player for Arsenal.

"When he plays well, they seem to play well too. We've seen him in various games.

"If he gets hold of the ball and does what he can with it, then that works well for Arsenal.

"We have to keep a close eye on him and try to prevent him from creating openings with his passing as we know that every time he gets to run at you he can create danger", the Argentina international added.

While Sanchez has excelled at Arsenal, Di Maria has taken time to adapt to the demands of English football and has been substituted by manager Louis van Gaal in his last three games for the club.
