Former Paris Saint-Germain striker Pauleta has asked Lyon hitman Alexandre Lacazette, who has been linked with Arsenal and Liverpool, to move to a bigger club soon.

The Lyon man has been the standout striker of the French top flight this season with 26 goals and has powered their title charge against PSG this term.

With 30 goals in all competitions, Lacazette’s exploits for Lyon have attracted the attention of the big clubs in Europe and the English duo of Arsenal and Liverpool are keeping a close watch on the striker's progress at the Stade de Gerland.

However, Lyon are expected to resist any offers for the Frenchman this summer and the striker himself is known to be keen to develop at the club beyond the end of the season.

However, former PSG striker Pauleta feels Lacazette should aim for a grander stage to perform. He believes at 23, the French international is at the perfect age to move to a bigger club in Europe.

“I think he has the talent to get better and establish himself in a great club such as Real Madrid or Barcelona”, the 42-year-old told Le Parisien.

“A player who scores more than 20 goals in France at his age should aim high.”

Lacazette broke into the French national team set-up earlier this year and has already earned five international caps.
