Marko Arnautovic is heading to Everton on a four-year contract, with his switch from Stoke City set to be announced on Tuesday, according to Austrian daily the Krone Zeitung.

The Potters have been battling to keep hold of the Austria international this summer, but now appear to have failed in their bid to do so.

Arnautovic had a release clause of just €15m in his contract, it has been claimed, and the Toffees have activated it to add the forward to Ronald Koeman's squad at Goodison Park.

Everton have been linked with losing striker Romelu Lukaku and snapping up Arnautovic will no doubt soften the blow for the Merseyside giants.

The former FC Twente man is well known to Everton boss Koeman, from his time playing in the Netherlands, and the former Feyenoord man is a firm fan of his talents.
