Rangers midfielder Jordan Thompson has indicated he has bought and is preparing to read Joey Barton's autobiography 'No Nonsense'.

Barton joined Rangers in the summer on a two-year contract from Burnley, who he helped win promotion to the Premier League from the Championship.

However, he has turned in poor performances at Ibrox and was involved in a training ground bust-up with Andy Halliday last week, which eventually resulted in a three-week club ban following a meeting with manager Mark Warburton.

Barton's Rangers career has been tipped to be all but over – but Thompson does not appear to want to miss out on nuggets from the Englishman and has been out to buy his book.

The midfielder posted a photograph of himself holding Barton's book, with a Tesco sticker on the front, indicating the place of purchase.

He later deleted the Tweet.

It remains to be seen whether Thompson will have the chance to play alongside Barton in the future, as the Englishman has indicated his desire to stick it out at Rangers despite the training ground incident.

Thompson joined Rangers from Manchester United in 2015.

The 19-year-old joined Airdrieonians on a loan spell for the second half of last term, while he is currently on loan at Raith Rovers as he looks to clock up first team experience.
