Spartak Moscow have not received an approach from Liverpool for Quincy Promes, the club's general manager insists, dubbing links with the Reds "rumours".

Reds boss Jurgen Klopp is beginning to be linked with a whole host of players in advance of the opening of the winter transfer window in less than a month's time.

Promes has been mooted as being on the German's list, but Spartak Moscow have had no contact with the Premier League giants, general manager Sergei Rodionov claims.

He was quoted as saying by Dutch daily the Algemeen Dagblad: "It is only rumours. We have not received an offer from any club."

However, the Spartak Moscow supremo was willing to confirm that the Netherlands international does have a release clause in his contract.
