Celtic loanee Jack Aitchison believes his stint at Forest Green Rovers has been helping him to further develop, after two underwhelming loan spells last season.

Aitchison is Celtic’s youngest ever goalscorer, but his career over the last two seasons has hit a few snags due to unsuccessful loan spells.

His stints at Dumbarton and Alloa Athletic did not go according to plan but he has been showing improvements since he joined English League Two side Forest Green Rovers last summer.

The 19-year-old forward has been playing regular football in the fourth tier of English football and has netted five goals in all competitions this season.

The Celtic youngster is enjoying life at Forest Green and is hopeful that there are clear signs of development in him this season due to the regular football he has been playing.

Aitchison is happy to play week-in-week-out and score goals at senior level at Forest Green.

“Yeah it’s good”, the youngster told The Athletic.

“I’ve been here for a while now, enjoying it. You can see hopefully in my game that I’ve developed, and it’s something different that I look forward to every day.

“Obviously there’s been a lot of highlights. We’ve not lost much overall, and more importantly, in the games I’ve played we’ve not lost much!

“I’m enjoying scoring goals and helping the team get the wins, and seeing the fans singing and dancing about is great to see, and makes that weekend a little bit better.”

The youngster has three senior appearances under his belt for Celtic and will be looking to add to that tally once he returns to the club next summer.
