Adrian has made some high-profile errors in the Liverpool goal whenever he has been asked to replace their first-choice goalkeeper Alisson, who is currently out injured.

His errors led to Liverpool being ousted from the Champions League last season and the Spaniard was shaky in their 7-2 defeat at Aston Villa ahead of the international break.

There are suggestions that Liverpool could make a move for Stoke City’s Jack Butland or Watford’s Ben Foster this week to shore up their goalkeeping options.

But it has been claimed that the Reds will not be dipping into their transfer funds to sign a new goalkeeper ahead of Friday’s domestic transfer deadline.

Jurgen Klopp will continue to place his trust in Adrian and back him to improve in goal as the Reds continue to wait for Alisson to get back to full fitness.

The Spaniard will come under pressure this weekend when Liverpool travel to Everton for the Merseyside derby.

Everton have won their opening four league games and have looked a massive attacking threat with James Rodriguez pulling the strings from the middle of the park.
