Jose Mourinho made a significant addition to his defensive options on the final day of the domestic transfer window in the shape of 22-year-old Rodon.

Tottenham wrapped up the signing of the Wales international from Championship side Swansea City for a deal worth up to £15m in what was essentially the final minute of the window.

The approval of Spurs boss Mourinho played a great role in Levy going ahead with a deal to sign the central defender from the Swans.

However, input from Tottenham’s Welsh duo Bale and Davies was also a significant factor in the club completing the signing of Rodon.

Having played together at international level for Wales, Bale and Davies personally endorsed the youngster, who became Spurs’ seventh major addition of the window.

The Tottenham duo then went on to star in a short video Tottenham released on their social media platforms to the announce the deadline day signing of Rodon.

The 22-year-old is viewed as a back-up option for the time being and also will not be available for the side’s EFL Cup and Europa League games.
