The 20-year-old full-back joined Scottish Premiership side Rangers from Leicester on a free transfer in the recent transfer window.

Although he is currently playing second fiddle to first-choice left-back Barisic, Bassey has impressed when given the chance, both in the league and Europe.

The youngster joined Rangers despite interest from other clubs and has displayed his hunger to learn since arriving at Ibrox.

Bassey quickly asked senior star Barisic for guidance after signing for the Gers and has been closely working with the Croat in an attempt to improve his game, according to The Athletic.

The left-back duo have been regularly doing extra training together, working on attributes such as crossing, as Bassey looks to develop his game.

The 20-year-old was viewed as a ball-playing central defender at Leicester by Brendan Rodgers.

However, Rangers see his future as a left-back and Barisic has been open to help the young full-back improve his game.

Rangers defender Connor Goldson has also taken the role of an elder brother to Bassey, helping the player feel at home at Ibrox.
