Arsenal counted themselves lucky to escape Elland Road with a point after having Nicolas Pepe sent off in the 51st minute and seeing Leeds repeatedly hit the woodwork as they pushed for a goal.

The Gunners struggled to create chances and their poor goalscoring record in the league continued, with just nine goals now in nine games.

Ozil has been firmly frozen out at Arsenal and De Jong is shocked that a team he feels so badly need creativity are overlooking him.

And he feels Ozil playing on one leg would be more creative than anyone in the Arsenal team.

“Flabbergasted to he honest”, De Jong said on beIN SPORT about Ozil not being involved for Arsenal.

“I think he would be better than most of the players with his right foot, playing on one leg.

“There’s zero creativity in that squad and if there is one thing Arsenal need it is creativity.”

Arsenal have picked up just 13 points from their opening nine league games, already leaving them seven points behind league leaders Tottenham Hotspur.

They are next in action in the Europa League away at Norwegian outfit Molde, where they will bid to return to winning ways.
