Sean Dyche’s side have had a challenging Premier League campaign so far, winning just one of their nine games and currently sitting 19th in the table.

Burnley’s poor start to the season was highlighted by their 5-0 defeat the hands of Manchester City last weekend but Clarets star Gudmundsson is keen to move on.

The Iceland international has admitted that Burnley’s performance against Pep Guardiola’s side was not good but has turned his attention to their upcoming game against Everton.

Gudmundsson pointed out that the Toffees are on a poor run of form, despite starting the season strongly, and stressed the need for the Clarets to take advantage of it and add to their woes as they look to bounce back from the Citizens defeat.

We weren’t happy with the performance [against Manchester City], but we need to forget that one and focus on the next one which is at home and a big game for us“, Gudmundsson was quoted as saying by Burnley’s official site.

Everton started off really well with a really experienced manager and some new players but over the last few games it hasn’t really gone their way, so we need to try and take advantage of that.

The start of this season hasn’t been the best, we know that.

But we have experience in the group and we know what it takes to stay in the league and that will be the aim this season.

Everton began the campaign with four consecutive league wins but have managed just one victory in their last six games.
