Torreira is currently plying his trade in the Spanish capital at Atletico Madrid on a season-long loan deal, with Los Rojiblancos having an option to make the midfielder’s stint permanent after the current season concludes.

However, the Uruguay midfielder is not receiving the regular minutes he hoped for and, with thoughts it could affect his national team prospects, could end his loan in January.

Torino are keen on snapping up Torreira in January and, according to Turin-based Italian daily Tuttosport, have already been given the green light by the player, who would be prepared to make the move.

Arsenal and Atletico Madrid are claimed to be set to hold talks about Torriera’s situation in the Spanish capital.

And if the loan move is terminated, Torino are likely to quickly make a move to take Torriera back to Serie A.

Torreira has only made four La Liga appearances for the Madrid outfit with the last two of his outings coming off the bench.

Torino are also looking for a loan agreement with Arsenal with an option to buy the player at the end of the loan stint.
