The Lions were unable to rope in Rashica during the last transfer window after failing to reach an agreement with Werder Bremen, but are now claimed to have rekindled their interest in the winger and could potentially launch a swoop in the upcoming January transfer window.

However, any move was put into question after the 24-year-old suffered an injury during training on Wednesday.

Werder Bremen sporting director Baumann though has refused to rule out the possibility of a January exit for Rashica, with the German insisting that the player could play for a new club as soon as in January, provided he gets fit.

Nonetheless, Baumann conceded that the selling the player has become more difficult because of the injury.

“He can stay, but he can also be sold”, Baumann told German daily the Weser-Kurier.

“If Milot is fit again at the end of January, he can play for a potential new club straight away.

“It [a sale] has of course become more difficult because of the injury.”

It remains to be seen whether Aston Villa make any concrete moves to bring the player to Villa Park when the transfer window swings open in less than a month’s time
