The Yorkshire outfit have been working hard behind the scenes, exploring the possibility of roping in new players from the available transfer talent pool, including unregistered players and free agents.

The January transfer window will swing open in less than a month’s time and Pulis will be keen on enriching his squad in the first transfer window he oversees as Sheffield Wednesday boss.

The Welshman acknowledged that he inherited a good group of players from former boss Garry Monk, but stressed the squad are aware they need some enhancements by bringing in more quality signings over the coming weeks.

Pulis added that the Owls hierarchy have advised him to analyse the market and then sit down and talk over potential transfer business.

“The squad will want to see one or two come in”, Pulis told a press conference.

“There is no doubt about it that they are a really good group of players, but they want to see the group enhanced with a little more quality.

“The inclination is from the chairman is to have a good look at and then sit down and talk about it.

“He has been supportive.”

Sheffield Wednesday are yet to mark down a win under their new boss having lost one Championship game and drawn three since Pulis took over the reins at Hillsborough.
