English third tier club Plymouth have confirmed the signing of 21-year-old defender Lewis from Premier League side Liverpool on loan until the end of the season.

The wing-back spent the first half of the season on loan at Ligue 2 side Amiens, but has returned to England after finding playing time hard to come by in France.

Reflecting on his move to the Pilgrims, Lewis revealed that he was delighted to hear of Argyle’s interest, with the stint with Amiens not working out.

Aware of the club’s size and the quality of manager Ryan Lowe, the Liverpool youngster went on to explain that he did not have to think twice about joining the League One outfit.

“I was in France, obviously, on loan [which] never worked out for me”, Lewis told iFollow Argyle.

“When this [Argyle opportunity] came up, I was right at it, it was obviously because I haven’t played a lot.

“It is a massive club, as you know, the manager is great, the backroom staff.

“So, I didn’t think twice about coming here.”

Lewis made nine Ligue 2 appearances for Amiens, but failed to make any of their matchday squads after 7th November.
