The 20-year-old midfielder joined Norwich City on loan from Tottenham last summer and has started each of the Canaries’ 23 Championship games this season.

Skipp has played a major role in keeping Norwich at the summit of the Championship standings and has shown why he is highly rated at Tottenham.

Mourinho has often been appreciative of the midfielder’s talent since he joined Tottenham in the middle of last season and Skipp admits that the Portuguese has been great to him since he arrived.

He is a fan of the Spurs manager’s man-management skills and revealed that Mourinho has personally contacted him a few times this season to let him know that he is being watched.

“That’s the thing about him, he treats everyone with the same respect”, the midfielder told the Evening Standard.

“I’m not Harry Kane or Hugo Lloris, but he still gave me the respect that I could go and talk to him. In terms of his man-management, he is brilliant.

“He knows when to push someone or when to give them some love.

“He’s messaged me a few times this season actually, which is a really nice touch, just to show he’s watching and aware of what I’m doing.

“He’s been really positive.”

Skipp will hope that regular football in a relentless league such as the Championship this season will open up a spot for him in the Spurs team next term.
