The Blues have been on a poor run of form in the Premier League recently, winning just one of their last five games and sliding down to ninth in the table.

Unhappy with the team’s recent performances, the Chelsea management have decided to act and remove Frank Lampard from his role as the manager.

Former Paris Saint-Germain boss Thomas Tuchel is now expected to replace the Englishman and take charge of the Stamford Bridge outfit.

However, Tuchel was not always the first option on Chelsea’s list of potential candidates to replace Lampard, with Rangnick offered a temporary role at the club.

The Blues offered the former RB Leipzig coach an interim role at the club, but saw the proposal turned down by the German tactician.

With Rangnick rejecting Chelsea’s offer, the Premier League side appear to have turned to Tuchel, who has been without a club since being sacked by PSG.

The former Borussia Dortmund boss is expected to be announced as the new Chelsea manager soon.
