After winning the first leg 2-0, Chelsea were the favourites to reach the last four of the competition and they completed a professional job in the second leg.

While Porto scored a late goal to win on the night 1-0, Chelsea edged them out with an aggregate scoreline of 2-1 over the two-legged quarter-final tie.

Tuchel admits that Porto gave them two tough games over 180 minutes and his team needed to battle hard to reach the semi-finals of the Champions League.

But he stressed that Chelsea were deserving semi-finalists and produced a strong rearguard action in the second leg to win the tie.

“The bottom line is we deserved to progress”, Tuchel told DAZN.

“Even if it was a very difficult 180 minutes.

“It was a tough fight today.

“But we found our way into the game with every minute and defended very well.”

Chelsea will face the winners between Real Madrid and Liverpool in the semi-final of the Champions League.

Real Madrid are coming to Anfield tonight after winning the first leg 3-1 in Spain last week.
