The 23-year-old has scored 14 goals and provided five assists from 28 Bundesliga appearances for Stuttgart so far this season, helping the side sit 10th in the table.
Sitting fifth in the Bundesliga goalscoring charts, Kalajdzic has earned his way onto the wishlist of several clubs, including Premier League duo Tottenham and West Ham.
With Kalajdzic attracting interest from several sides, Stuttgart are expected to field offers for the Austria international when the summer transfer window opens.
However, Stuttgart sporting director Mislintat has revealed that the Bundesliga club are prepared to fend off approaches for the striker and increase his wages, as they did with Nicolas Gonzalez last year.
“It’s similar to Nico Gonzalez last summer“, Mislintat was quoted as saying by Germany daily Bild.
“If Sasa gets much better offers, then we are in a position to offer something to oppose it and also put forward a contract extension for a year.“
Mislintat also revealed that Stuttgart will hold talks with Kalajdzic over a contract extension by the end of the summer.
“We know how good he is“, Mislintat said.
“We will hold talks with Sasa by summer at the latest, either before or after the European Championship.“
With Stuttgart determined to retain the services of Kalajdzic, it remains to be seen if the likes of Tottenham and West Ham can price him out of the German top flight club.
