Hart, who joined Celtic from Tottenham Hotspur, has conceded just once in the Scottish Premiership this term, keeping a clean sheet on three occasions.

Except for a defeat against Rangers, the Bhoys have scored in every game in the league this season, already amassing a tally of 16 goals after five matches.

Hart is enjoying the backing of the supporters at Celtic Park, a feeling he was reminded of again when he made a save against Ross County last weekend that denied them the equaliser.

The 34-year-old insists he knows he must concentrate and be focused throughout games as due to Celtic’s dominant nature he is unlikely to be called upon too often.

“Yeah, of course, I feel really welcome at the club first and foremost, it’s made me feel very welcome, both the guys in and around the club, and also the fans have been exceptional”, Hart told Celtic TV when asked whether he felt the fans’ appreciation after denying Ross County the equaliser.

“I’ve really felt that and I really do appreciate that.

“But the job I’ve been asked to do, especially in the league, there’s no point in getting away from it, there’s not going to be a huge amount of saves hopefully in games, so when I do have to make the odd one, I want to be there and I want to stand up for the team.”

Hart did not make a single appearance for Spurs in the Premier League last season, operating mainly in the Europa League, and he will be determined to prove his abilities as a goalkeeper again now that he is first-choice shot-stopper for the Hoops.
