The German took charge of Chelsea in January this year and made a huge impact by getting the Blues into the top four and managed to win the Champions League by beating Manchester City in the final.

 

He has been lauded for the way he transformed Chelsea’s fortunes since he took over and picked up the UEFA Super Cup with the club at the start of this season.

 

 

Herrera thinks that Tuchel’s success at Chelsea is just one of the vagaries of football as the German was the same coach who lost the Champions League final with PSG just a year ago.

 

He also pointed out that players such as Antonio Rudiger and Marcos Alonso were not even playing under Lampard, but were pivotal in Chelsea winning the trophy under Tuchel.

 

 

“I simply thought this is football”, the midfielder told Spanish daily Marca.

 

“Eight months before that we lost the Champions League final with him on the bench.

 

 

“This sport has shown to be a mystery, and that no other sport holds so many surprises.

 

“Chelsea had Lampard, with players such as Rudiger and Marcos Alonso who practically didn’t play.

 

“Tuchel arrives, they play for him and they made the difference.”

 

Tuchel is eyeing winning the Premier League with Chelsea after signing Romelu Lukaku in the summer.
