Strachan returned to Celtic last month on a three-month consultancy role and was allowed to remain the technical director at Dundee as well.

There was a minor furore last weekend when he was spotted at Tannadice Park for Dundee’s derby against Dundee United in his role as the Dees’ technical director while Celtic were in action against Livingston.

Moore conceded that he is confused about how Celtic managed to reach this position with Strachan and he is not sure everyone at the club is happy about the situation around the Bhoys legend.

He said on the Go Radio Football Show: “That’s just a confusing one for me.

“I really can’t wrap my head around how that is in place, how that happened and who decided that.

“I can’t imagine everyone was on board with that decision.”

Celtic are still without a technical director and Moore feels too many clubs get caught up about personalities rather than getting the right person for the job.

He stressed that Celtic must try to bring in the right person who can take the club forward in that role.

“I think we get carried away with who is a good person and who isn’t but get the right person.

“Somebody that can do their job, do it well and make sure that they can take the club forward.”
