Celtic produced a solid result at home on Tuesday night to keep their Europa League hopes alive when they beat Ferencvaros 2-0 at Parkhead.

New boy Kyogo Furuhashi was again instrumental and scored a goal as Celtic recorded their first victory in the group stage of the Europa League this season against the Hungarian opponents.

Provan is hopeful that Celtic can plunder the Japanese market in the winter transfer window and bring in more players of quality such as Furuhashi in the coming months.

He is certain that Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou has a shortlist of players and stressed that the club just need to be within touching distance of Rangers in the title race until January and look to make a major impact by bringing two or three quality players.

Provan said on the Go Radio Football Show: “He [Furuhashi] has been such a good signing and Celtic supporters will be hoping that there will be one or two more in that market where Celtic can go and plunder in January.

“I am sure Ange Postecoglou has three or four names up his sleeve.

“It is all about Celtic keeping in touch, staying competitive until January and I expect two or three big signings.”

Celtic have turned their form around after a slow start and will host St. Johnstone at Parkhead in the league on Saturday.
