The Bhoys produced a solid performance as they beat Ferencvaros in the Europa League last night with a 2-0 scoreline at Parkhead.

The result kept Celtic’s hopes of progressing to the next stage of the Europa League alive and added weight to Postecoglou’s insistence on playing an open and attacking brand of football.

The Celtic manager has been clear about not changing his tactics despite some poor results at the start of the season and Provan conceded that really worries him from the outside.

He stressed that there are very few managers who can be that married to their style and insisted that Celtic do not have that amount of quality to play the same way regardless of the opponents.

Provan said on the Go Radio Football Show: “It worries me when I see him in the papers saying that I am not going to change.

“There are very few coaches who are intransigent like that and the ones who are like that are [Pep] Guardiola and [Jurgen] Klopp, who have the best-paid players in the world.

“They can play like that and open up against anyone, Celtic are not at that stage there and that’s what we saw against Leverkusen.

“When Celtic tried to open up against a real quality side, they got a sore one.”

Celtic are fourth in the Scottish Premiership standings and are four points behind league leaders Rangers.
