Kepa is now firmly the second choice goalkeeper at Chelsea, behind Edouard Mendy, but despite being linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge, has continued to stay put in London.

The shot-stopper has admirers however and former Chelsea manager Sarri is amongst them.

Sarri would like Kepa to arrive as early as January, according to Italian daily Corriere dello Sport, but with Pepe Reina and Thomas Strakosha at the club, a move is rated as unlikely.

More likely is a Lazio swoop to sign Kepa in the summer transfer window.

However, the salary Kepa earns at Chelsea could be a potential obstacle in any deal to take him to Lazio.

The shot-stopper takes home €5m per year at Stamford Bridge and Lazio would be unable to pick up the whole amount.

Lazio would want to see Chelsea make a contribution towards Kepa’s wages to ensure that a move could happen.

Kepa has made four appearances for Chelsea so far this season, keeping two clean sheets and conceding two goals.
